‘Whole trip’ service does Airbnb bigger than ever, but many want tougher conventions

Airbnb is taking on the tourism sector with an ambitious stretch and a star-studded opening but it comes at a fragile day for the company

Airbnb is taking on the tourism sector by offering travellers jaunts and experiences hosted by locals, an ambitious swelling which will allow people to hope entire trips through the home-sharing site.

The redesigned app works for a dozen metropolitans, including London, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Tokyo and Nairobi, and will spread to dozens more next year, and eventually thousands, the company said here on Thursday.

Offerings include stargazing, surfing, dramatizing, meat tasting, truffle hunting, burlesque dance exercises, mountain biking, samurai-sword years and murder-mystery tours.
