Back when I was a university undergraduate in Ye Olde England, my dorm room had an Ikea lamp, lots of ostentatious works and a ostentatious vintage rock-and-roll strap poster. There was also a mushroom developing from my ceiling( not on purpose ). This was pretty standard and my peers had fluctuations of the same.
Fast forward to present-day America and things have changed. I present as Exhibit A, Lindy Goodson and Abby Bozeman, freshman roommates at Ole Miss. Amazing, right? But not actually that odd. Goodson and Bozeman arent outliers; theyre representative of a more design-savvy, Instagram-image-conscious generation. Before we start tutting about it wasnt like this for my generation, a few words about the present generation. Zillenials have different expectations of the college know-how than previous generations. You can never be too rich or extremely thin or have too many pillows, apparently. Pillows have proliferated at an alarming frequency in recent years. Whats more, many of them compound the above veers: they pair and have a motivational term on them.

While previous generations may have put up a framed vintage French cinema poster, todays boys have a pillow with Cest La Vie on it or Paris plastered over their bedding or a wall decal of the Eiffel Tower.
